Leander Rowing Club
Burton Leander Rowing Club is the premiere rowing club in Burton on
Trent and celebrated its 150th Anniversary in 1997. The club has seen successes
at national and international level, with wins at Henley, The National Championships
and The National Schools Regatta. Members of the junior squad regularly attend
GB trials, the most recent selection was Liam Rose who competed in the GB
vs France Regatta in Abbevile sur la Somme, France.
We are fortunate to have approximately 6KM of rowable river, with
an exciting regatta course, over 1100m from the Leicester Line Railway Bridge
to a point just before the Ferry Bridge, and a straight sprint course over
450m. Burton Leander aims to enable its athletes to meet their aspirations
through the provision of excellent training facilities both on and off the
water, this includes Olympic weights facilities, Concept 2 rowing machines
and quality coaching alongside a full fleet of racing boats
Burton Leander Rowing Club is a Community Amatuer Sports Club and a proud holder
of the Sport England Club Mark. Burton Leander is dedicated to the promotion
and development of rowing. The club is open to all and always welcomes new
rowers, both experienced and those new to the sport as we have a team of
A.R.A qualified coaches and a variety of training boats. We also have a number
of university rowers who come back for the summer/winter/easter periods -
we offer a special membership rate for those who wish to do so.
